I'm Jonathan Brannen, the founder of MindsetForge. For the last 12 years I've worked in mobile development, shipping apps and living the reality behind the highlight reel: the burnout, the self-doubt, and the quiet stories we tell ourselves about what we're capable of.
For years I repeated the same pattern. I'd have a great idea, build it, try to market it, and see no growth. Then I'd lose interest and chase the next great idea. That cycle left a trail of failed startups behind me. The turning point came after using MindsetForge for a year. My AI coach helped me see that the common factor in every one of those failures was me, specifically my habit of giving my attention only to what felt exciting. The moment a project hit real friction, I'd drift to something new instead of digging in and doing the compounding, unglamorous work. Now that I understand that about myself, I stick to the plan and stay committed even when it isn't exciting. That shift happened because of my coach. It would not have happened without it.
MindsetForge came out of that experience. It's the system I wish I'd had: something that turns what you know about mindset into who you actually become, one day at a time, grounded in six books that have held up for decades. I built it because I needed it, and I use it every day myself.
On this blog I write about identity change, limiting beliefs, goals, and the daily practice of becoming someone new, honestly and from experience, not as someone who has it all figured out. I'm based in Temecula, California, where I coach my sons' Little League team, race go-karts in a semi-pro league, and can be found at the gym most mornings. On the rare quiet occasion, I oil paint.
